DENVER -- The following is a list of communities and their activities for the July Fourth holiday. We will keep this list updated. Most firework displays are on SATURDAY, July 4, 2009, unless otherwise noted.

ALAMOSA

Fireworks begin at dark at Alamosa Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 4. The parade down Main Street will begin at 10 a.m. Learn more by calling 719-589-3681.

ARVADA

Fireworks kick off at night (9 p.m. ish) on Saturday, July 4th at the Lutz/Stenger Sports Complex located just west of Kipling on W. 58th Avenue. The fireworks are set to a musical simulcast on KOOL 105.1. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. Call 720-898-7400, or go to ArvadaFestivals.com for more information. There will be lots of family fun which include a Kids Park with obstacle course, games, car show, temporary tattoos, food concessions, and entertainment all day. KOOL 105 will be hosting a classic car show. Parking will be on a first come first serve basis beginning at 2 p.m. No parking will be allowed on Kipling Street.
Please remember that fireworks, alcohol and pets are not allowed in the Lutz/Stenger Sports Complex.

ASPEN

Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. over Aspen Mountain on Saturday, July 4. The Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration and Parade will be taking place all day, starting at 8 a.m.. Festivities include a parade, U.S. Airforce jet flyby, concerts, a kid's bicycle rodeo, and spectacular fireworks over Aspen Mountain. AURORA

Fireworks will be launched 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, on the west side the Aurora Municipal Center lawn and can be viewed within a two mile radius. It is the largest fireworks display in the metro area and a features a performance by the Air Force Academy Band. Fireworks will be 25 minutes long and patriotic music will be simulcast on KEZW. The lawn at East Alameda Avenue and Chambers Road can fit about 2,000 people so there is limited seating. The fireworks also may be viewed from surrounding areas. Best viewing locations include east of Potomac Street, south of Sixth Avenue, north of Mississippi Avenue and west of Buckley Road. AVON

At 9:45 p.m. FRIDAY, July 3, fireworks will be launched over beautiful Nottingham Lake. The fireworks extravaganza is choreographed to a musical score simulcast on 97.7 KZYR. Kids events begin at 5 p.m. To learn more about Avon's Salute to the USA, call 970-748-4060 or go to avon.org

BASALT

Boogie's Diner Buddy 5-Mile race celebrates it's 35th year. The race will begin at Boogie's Diner at Cooper Street and Hunter Street. To learn more go to The Buddy Program website.

BLACK HAWK

Fireworks will begin at sundown, about 9:30 p.m. You can watch at any point in Black Hawk and the show will last about 30 minutes. More info at CityofBlackHawk.org or call 303-582-2235.

BOULDER

Fireworks spectacular at Folsom Field at the University of Colorado. Fireworks, choreographed to live music, begin at 9:30 p.m. Gates open at 7:45 p.m. and admission to the fireworks display is free. BRECKENRIDGE

Fireworks display at the Riverwalk Center at 9:30 p.m., following a National Repertory Orchestra 4th of July Patriotic Concert at 8:30 p.m. Prior to that the Firecracker 50 bike race, designated as the USA Cycling Marathon Mountain Biking National Championships, kicks off the Main Street parade. Breckenridge’s Independence Day Parade takes place at 11 a.m. along the town’s historic Main Street and will feature bag pipers, floats, kids’ bike brigade, Vipers and more. New this year, one of Budweiser’s six Clydesdale teams in the United States will be making the journey to Breckenridge to appear in the parade as well as be on display for viewing in the Wellington lot.

BRIGHTON

BROOMFIELD

Great American Picnic and Fireworks Extravaganza will be held at Broomfield County Commons, located at 132nd and Sheridan. BRUSH

BUENA VISTA

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. followed by children's activities and entertainment and food including pie slices by the Young at Heart. All events will take place on July 4.

BYERS

The Byers Park and Recreational District in Byers is having one of the largest open rodeos in Byers at Quint Valley. We will be having the rodeo at 4 p.m. followed by a large fireworks display at dark.
Twilight Car Show on July 4 beginning at 4 p.m, hay rides, farm animals, and DJ Da Boogieman. Finish the evening watching fireworks on the grass, bring your lawn chairs and blankets to MayFarms.com

CANON CITY

There will be a July 4th Celebration with fireworks at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. Celebrations start at 8 a.m., with music by The Geezers, fireworks later. Contact the city's Chamber of Commerce office at (719)-275-2331 for more information.

CARBONDALE

CASTLE ROCK

The Castle Rock Liberty Festival will be held at Metzler Ranch Park, 4175 Trail Boss Road. It's a holiday helping of family fun with kids events, live entertainment and of course, a fireworks show. The fun starts at 5:15 p.m. and ends with a fireworks show at 9 p.m. The website for the event is Town of Castle Rock.

COLORADO SPRINGS

Fourth of July Celebrations at Memorial Park has been canceled due to budget constraints.
The Air Force Academy will have fireworks, though, on Saturday, July 4. The celebration is open to the public. Parking available at and near the Cadet Field House. Parking will be extremely limited, so carpooling is strongly encouraged. All visitors should enter the Academy through the North Gate, exit 156B. Due to expected record-level attendance, people should arrive early. In the event of inclement weather, the celebration may be cancelled. Events start at 5 p.m. on the Academy athletic fields, with numerous paid activity games, including bouncy houses, climbing walls and a bungee trampoline, as well as food and beverage vendors. Music will be broadcast by the Academy’s cadet radio station, KAFA 97.7FM, before and during the fireworks show. The Blue Steel combo of the Air Force Academy Band will perform from 8:50 to 9:20 p.m. The fireworks show will start at approximately 9:30 p.m. and is expected to last 20 minutes. Visitors can bring cameras, lawn chairs, blankets, umbrellas, and sealed plastic water bottles. But, visitors cannot bring coolers, barbecue grills, pets other than working service dogs, or fireworks.

COMMERCE CITY

On Saturday, July 4, events will be held at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The fireworks will start after the Rapids game. Colorado Rapids v. Chicago Fire MLS game begins at 7 p.m. Food, kid's activities, a beer garden, and live bands will start at 5 p.m. on the south end of the park. Special concert inside the stadium by "The Samples."

COPPER MOUNTAIN

Copper Mountain Resort will have a July 4 celebration featuring live music, conscious carnival, kid-powered parade, fireworks and interactive activities designed to educate and entertain. CRESTED BUTTE

CRIPPLE CREEK

Residents of the gold camp have always loved to celebrate the Fourth of July. Put on by Cripple Creek Fire Dept., the town will showcase a massive fireworks display, beginning at dark, choreographed to music. It will held at City Park and admission is free. DEER TRAIL

Deer Trail is one community that puts on a great display. The fireworks will begin at dusk on July 4 at the Rodeo grounds.

DELTA

The 18th Annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival will be taking place July 3-5. The arts festival weekend event is a world-class and award-winning celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts. The CCAF is located in Denver’s Cherry Creek North Business District, from 2nd to 3rd, on the six streets starting on Clayton through Steele. Fireworks for 2009 have been canceled. DILLON

There are a wide array of events in Dillon for Independence Day. At 1 p.m., children’s bike decorating which will be followed by a parade in Dillon Town Park. There will also be a watermelon seed spitting contest along with other food and entertainment. At 9:30 p.m. on July 4, there will be a firework display over Dillon Reservoir.

DURANGO

The July 4 holiday festivities will begin with the Freedom Fun Run/Walk, presented by Parks and Recreation beginning at 9 a.m. sharp and starting from Rotary Park. This event has no entry fee. The evening events are all on Main Avenue and begin with the Stars and Stripes Parade at 6 p.m. Topping off the 4th of July celebration will be the salute-to-America fireworks display from 9:15 to 9:45 p.m. The show boasts over 2,200 charges and lasts nearly a half-hour. EDGEWATER

ENGLEWOOD

Fireworks display will be launched from the baseball fields at Cornerstone Park at 9:30 p.m. on July 4th and can be seen from Belleview, Progress and Cornerstone Parks. ERIE

Independence Day Fireworks. One of Colorado's most brilliant fireworks displays over Lake Estes. The event is free and will begin at 9:30 p.m. The Town of Estes Park is providing free summer shuttle service throughout the downtown area, into Rocky Mountain National Park with stops around the Estes Valley. FLAGLER

The town of Flagler will begin fireworks at dusk Saturday, July 4 at Mossland Memorial Golf Course. Just sit back and enjoy the fireworks show overlooking the lake on the course at dusk. The golf course will be open all day if you are interested in playing round of golf. Meals will be available at the golf course. The Historical Society and town of Flagler will have free watermelon at the Second Central School Museum from 2 pm till 6: pm. FORT CARSON

The Celebration will occur FRIDAY, July 3, beginning at 4 p.m. at Ironhorse Park. The event includes many family-oriented activities to include arts and crafts and big-air jumpers for children, food vendors and musical entertainment by Ricky and the Radios. The Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra will perform beginning at 8 p.m. and will accompany a fireworks display scheduled for sometime after 9 p.m. Day ends with 20-minute fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Events open to public. Fireworks on Saturday, July 4. Fireworks will be shot out of the Community Center at dark, beginning at dark. The best views are at Two Rivers Park. GOLDEN

Fireworks begin around 9:30 p.m. on July 4 at Lions Park, located 10th and Maple Streets. The Golden Lions Club will sponsor the day's activities at Lions Park. Park in the outlying parking lots to avoid the congestion on 10th St. after the fireworks. Entertainment will be provided all day from various bands. GOODLAND, KANSAS

Fireworks and Freedom Fest on July 4th at Sherman County Fairgrounds on North Main. Begins at 5:30 p.m. with carnival rides. Free watermelon feed at 6:00. 4H leaders will have food available for purchase. One hour after dusk, they will have the largest fireworks display in Northwest Kansas.

GRANBY

Granby will host the "largest small town parade" according to Granby's Chamber of Commerce beginning at 10:30 a.m. Fireworks over the rodeo grounds on Saturday, July 4 after the rodeo. GREELEY

GREEN VALLEY RANCH

HIGHLANDS RANCH

The Indian Hills Fire Rescue will host a July 4th Celebration with fireworks at dusk, approximately 9:20 p.m. Stage show at 6 p.m. at the helipad, with entertainment and bands. KREMMLING

Fire Up the Cliffs 4th of July Celebration. Join us for a spectacular fireworks displays off the landmark Kremmling Cliffs which starts at dark. Live music and a BBQ in the Kremmling Town Square begins at 6 p.m. Admission to the event and fireworks is free. All activities and excellent firework viewing takes place in Town Square Park. LEADVILLE

Leadville 4th of July Celebrations: The July 4th Parade will kick the festivities off at 10 a.m. There will be a bluegrass festival on the courthouse lawn and the Rodeo group is have some fundraiser at the Pueblo Bank parking lot. Of course the fireworks will commence at dusk.

LITTLETON

Fourth of July Festivities on Saturday, July 4. A spectacular fireworks show will be launched from the baseball fields at Cornerstone Park. Other activities will take place at Belleview, Cornerstone and Progress Parks (near South Windermere and West Belleview Avenues.) Food concessions will be available. LONE TREE

Residents from Lone Tree and Acres Green are invited to attend Lone Tree's 12th annual Independence Day Celebration, featuring the City's fourth annual Firecracker 5K Run, community parade, live entertainment, activities for kids, local food vendors and spectacular fireworks show. Wristbands are required to enter the celebration at Sweetwater Park. These wristbands can be purchased on July 2 and 3. Each household in Lone Tree and Acres Green can pick up four (4) wristbands and purchase an additional four (4) wristbands at $5.00 each (while supplies last). You must show a driver's license or billing statement with your current address to receive the wristbands. Kids ages 3 and under do not need to wear a wristband. Independence Day Fireworks Display over at North Lake Park located at 29th and Taft Avenue beginning at 9:17 p.m., following 8 p.m "Star Spangled Spectacular" concert. Visitors to the July 4th Festival are urged to bicycle or walk to the park as parking will be limited to paid car parking in the lots at Loveland High School or on-street parking in surrounding neighborhoods. MANITOU SPRINGS

MONUMENT, PALMER LAKE and TRI-LAKES AREA

There are activities from Dawn to past Dusk -- it's a great place to stay all day for the good old time flavor of the 4th. There's a funrun, a pancake breakfast, a parade and fireworks! NORTHGLENN

Fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. over Webster Lake at E.B Rains Jr. Memorial Park, 117th Avenue and Community Center Drive (S.E corner of 120th and I-25.) Scheduled activities include a pancake breakfast, a bake sale, a kids’ fun area with inflatables and a military recognition. Pedal boats will be available for rent throughout the day and during the fireworks show. If fireworks are not launched by 10 p.m. due to inclement weather, they will be launched on July 5. OURAY

Ouray, Colorado will have its huge annual fireworks display just after dusk on July 4th. Launched from just above the town on the first southern switchback of Hwy 550, viewers have a canopy of explosions overhead paired with the canyon-created echoes of the bursts. "It's a seriously great time," a viewer says.

PAGOSA SPRINGS

The Town of Pagosa Springs will grace the skies over Pagosa Country with fireworks display. Fireworks will be at the football field by the Pagosa Springs High School. Let Freedom Sing Celebration, including a professional fireworks show is on July 4 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the east side of Town Hall at 20120 E. Mainstreet. The fun includes bounce houses, a backyard slide, face painters, temporary tattoo artists, balloon artists, craft vendors and live music. Ash Ganley Band will kick-off the MusicFest at 2 p.m., followed by Gretchen Troop Band at 3:15 p.m. and Olachi at 4:30 p.m. Get excited for local favorite Wendy Woo, who will headline from 6 to 8 p.m.! There will be a children's parade beginning at 10 a.m. leaving from City Hall. There will be children's activities including three legged racing and watermelon seed spitting at Hines. Fireworks presented by the Rifle Fire Department are set to go off between 8:30 and 9 p.m. at the high school.

SALIDA
