Martinez-Guerra Tried To Run Over Several People, DA Says

A 28-year-old woman was charged Tuesday with trying to run over several people with her car while driving drunk, the district attorney's office said.

On May 31, Marla Martinez-Guerra was in a verbal argument with a person when it escalated into a physical fight, the Denver's District Attorney's Office said.

Martinez-Guerra jumped into her car, rammed her car into the victim's vehicle and tried to run over several people, prosecutors said.

She sped off but then crashed into another car and a cyclist, said district attorney spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough. This occurred in the 1900 block of Lawrence.

Martinez-Guerra was charged with three counts of criminal mischief, vehicular assault, four counts of criminal attempt to commit assault, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving under the influence.

Martinez-Guerra has been released from custody on $150,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on July 7.
