Car Owner Is Campus Supervisor At Golden High School

Investigators are looking for the person who set fire to a school staffer's car in the parking lot of Golden High School.

Firefighters called to the school at 9:27 a.m. Thursday found a Honda engulfed in flames.

Investigators from the Golden police and fire departments have determined that the car was doused in gasoline and deliberately set on fire. They are interviewing witnesses and looking at school security video to develop leads.

No one was hurt.

No students have been suspended, but officials do have a person or persons of interest, said Lynn Setzer, spokeswoman for Jefferson County Public Schools.

Setzer did not know if the persons of interest are students or someone off campus.

The car belongs to the campus supervisor, who works at the high school and helps with security issues but is not a security officer, Setzer said.

"He is the eyes and ears of the campus," she said.
