COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A music teacher employed by the Academy School District 20 in Colorado Springs has been arrested on allegations that he distributed child pornography.

Jaime Bush Schneider, 42, was arrested by police on Wednesday after they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children earlier in the month.

The police department's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit worked with Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents in following up on the tip and executing a search warrant at Schneider's Colorado Springs home.

"Evidence consistent with the distribution of sexually exploitative images of children was recovered during the search," police said in a statement. "There is no evidence that the computer contained images or video of children living in the Colorado Springs area."

Schneider is a band director at Timberview Middle School and was hired in 2001, according to district spokeswoman Nanette Anderson.

"He has been placed on administrative leave," Anderson said.

Schneider was being held in the El Paso County Jail on investigation of sexual exploitation of children.
