FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Police in Fort Collins continue their search for a missing college student who seems to have disappeared.
Lacy Miller, 20, attends the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She was last seen at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday dropping off a girlfriend at her apartment.
The friend, Meryl Cooper, said that Miller told her that she was tired and that she was going home immediately.
Then her car (pictured, right) was found abandoned on a street near her parent's house in southwest Fort Collins. She never showed up for work or to dinner with her friends Saturday night.
"It should only have taken maybe 10 minutes for her to get there," said Cooper, who lives three miles away from Miller.
Her parents say it is unusual for their conscientious daughter not to show up at work or not to call them with her whereabouts. They said that it was odd to find her black Mitsubishi Mirage parked two doors down from their house when she normally parks in the garage.
Fort Collins police do not suspect foul play but do find the case unusual. Investigators took search and rescue dogs to the home Sunday evening and said that there have been no activity on her credit cards, no activity on her cell phone and no signs of struggle. Her car was parked and locked.
Search crews looked for Miller Monday in the area around Horsetooth Reservoir while family and friends distributed flyers at the local MLK parade in Fort Collins. Sunday night, they searched for her in the foothills near Miller's home, around the 2900 block of Brumbaugh Drive.
Miller is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, 130 pounds,
with straight, shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black short-sleeve T-shirt, a white terry-cloth hooded jacket, faded blue jeans and black shoes. If you have information, you are asked to call Fort Collins police at (970) 221-6895.
