April 5, 2009: Volunteers Provide Critical Hospital Support

7Everyday Heroes Have Donated 10,000+ Hours

POSTED: 11:03 am MDT April 6, 2009

Hospitals need help. Often, they turn to volunteers to provide support to doctors, nurses and patients.

This week's 7Everyday Heroes have donated their time to Littleton Adventist Hospital for 20 years.

"I feel they are the glue that holds this hospital together," said Catherine Barley, Manager of Volunteer Services, of Pat Roen and Dee Blankenship. Each woman has amassed more than 10,000 volunteer hours.

"Anybody who comes in the front entrance we greet, and meet - employees, guests, patients, whatever," said Roen. She has spent her time at the information desk. Blankenship volunteers in the Emergency Room.
