Storm Conditions Improve, But It's Still Slow Going

DENVER -- Call it the snow-pocalypse, the March Blizzard 2009 or the Spring Storm. Whatever you call it, it has been a storm to remember.Light snow will continue to fall in the Denver Metro Area through Friday morning. Up to two inches of new snow will fall between Midnight and 8:00 a.m. along the I-25 Corridor, bringing totals up to a foot-and-a-half in some areas.Temperatures will be in the low to mid teens with wind chills around -5 degrees as commuters begin their morning drive. Roads will be icy and snowpacked so unnecessary travel is discouraged. If you do decide to drive, prepare for a slow crawl into the downtown area.
The Front Range will be under a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY until 6 a.m. Friday. Winds will be from the north at 15-30 mph and will continue to produce blowing and drifting snow.The snow started early Thursday morning - heavy at first from Fort Collins to Boulder. Throughout the day the heaviest snow gradually moved farther to the southeast. The worst of the storm had shifted to the southeast quarter of Colorado by Midnight, with blizzard conditions expected to continue in the southeast through Noon on Friday.
