DENVER -- 1 p.m..The trial of former CU professor Ward Churchill is scheduled to resume at 1:30. Churchill is expected to take the witness stand after some final questions for law professor Mimi Wesson. Wesson headed up the investgation of Churchill's academic conduct and was grilled on the witness stand Monday by Churchill's attorney, David Lane.During cross examination today she said, " I think he is a tragic figure really, and it makes me sad that so much talkent and so much promise has been wasted."
1:30 p.m.. It now appears that Ward Churchill will not testify today. The testimony of Mimi Wesson has taken longer than expected. Outside the courtroom, David Lane told me he doubts that Churchill will make it to the stand today.
