Body Found Near Train Tracks Identified
Police Don't Know If Man Was Alive Or Dead Before He Was Struck By Train

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Douglas County deputies are investigating whether a man struck by a train Thursday afternoon was dead or alive before the train hit him.An engineer on a coal train called the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at about 1:30 p.m. and said he saw a body on the train tracks as he approached. He could not stop the train in time and struck it, said Cocha Heyden, a sheriff's spokeswoman.Officers who arrived discovered the body of a white man in his 40s, said Castle Rock Police Chief Tony Lane.
On Friday, police identified the victim as Fletcher Cloven, 44, of Castle Rock.Cloven's body was found near U.S. Highway 85 and the Meadows Subdivision in Castle Rock.Investigators don't know if foul play was involved in the death.
