High School Coach Arrested In Sex Sting
Employee Suspended Following Arrest

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- An Air Academy High School
employee was arrested Tuesday after police said he tried to arrange
a sexual encounter with an undercover officer posing as a child.
Troy Lee Stetler, 31 (pictured, left), was suspended from his job as technology
coordinator and assistant girls volleyball coach, School District
20 spokeswoman Nanette Anderson said.
"I'm absolutely shocked. He's a very kind young man," said Denise Anderson, the head volleyball coach at Air Academy High School. "There's got to be something I don't know ... He is very well-liked and very well-respected by the kids and the faculty."
Stetler has coached the freshmen girls' team at Air Academy for the last two years, Anderson said.
Stetler was arrested on suspicion of on suspicion of attempted
sexual assault and enticement of a child. Both are felonies.
Police said Stetler began communicating over the Internet on
Dec. 19 with an officer posing as a 13-year-old boy. Stetler
arranged a meeting at a hotel on Tuesday, police said.
Stetler's phone line was busy on repeated calls late Tuesday.
