DENVER -- A former Fort Carson soldier faces life in prison after he was found guilty for killing a cab driver in 2007, prosecutors said Monday.Olin "Famous" Ferrier was found guilty of first-degree murder, robbery and attempted aggravated robbery, reported KRDO.Prosecutors said Ferrier killed David Chance on October 2007 after a robbery went bad. Chance's body was found inside his cab with the engine still running.
Chance's family burst into tears when the verdict was read.Former co-workers and friends said the guilty verdict brought them a sense of relief."I'm at a loss for words, I'm glad that they got what they got and they should be getting more," Glen Nading, who worked with Chance, told KRDO. "All he was doing was his job...giving somebody a ride."Chance's former co-workers said he drove cab No. 3 and in his memory that number will be retired.
