Charges Filed In '97 Kidnapping, Sex Assault
Investigators Say DNA Evidence Led Them To Suspect

DENVER -- The Denver district attorney filed charges against a man in connection with an 11-year-old kidnapping and sexual assault, authorities said Monday.Willie Trimble is charged with four counts of sexual assault and one count of second-degree kidnapping, said DA spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough.Trimble is accused of grabbing a 34-year-old woman in April 1997 and sexually assaulting her behind a home in the 700 block of East 23rd Avenue, Kimbrough said.
Investigators were led to Trimble through DNA evidence, she said.Trimble is in custody in the Denver County Jail on an unrelated charge. Kimbrough said he is scheduled for trial in April in a separate murder/sexual assault.
