DENVER -- A 6-month-old girl is expected to be okay after being shot in the cheek during an attempted robbery Sunday night.

Police say a group of men were playing video games at the Villages at Gateway apartments on Allbrook Drive just west of Peoria and 47th Avenue. Police say three of them then pulled out guns and tried to rob the family.

The infant and her father were both hit in the gunfire. Police said the adult victim was shot in the back of the leg should also be OK.

Police say they are searching for three suspects, but have not released descriptions of the men.

The infant's mother and two other children were also in the apartment at the time of the shooting. None of them was injured.

The relationship between the gunmen and the family is not clear, but police said they apparently knew each other well enough to come over and play video games.

"There's a lot of gang trouble around here," said Tammara Cruz, who lives in the apartments. "Sometimes you hear gunshots at night. It wakes you up and scares the daylights out of you... I'm fed up with it. I'm moving out."
