Firefighters Save Zoe The Cat
Neighbor Helped Hold Oxygen Mask On Family Pet

DENVER -- West Metro firefighters saved the life of Zoe the cat by using an oxygen mask.Zoe was home alone when a fire started at her home on West Mississippi Avenue.As West Metro firefighters drove toward the home, they could see thick, black smoke from several blocks away.
Zoe was found in the basement.Firefighters, with the help of a neighbor, put an oxygen mask on Zoe. The neighbor then took the cat to a nearby veterinary clinic.West Metro Fire said Zoe is doing well.There is heavy fire and smoke damage to much of the home. The family of four will be staying with family members and are working with their insurance company to find permanent housing.The fire is under investigation. A cause has not been determined.
