A man wanted in Mexico on charges of rape and domestic violence was arrested by U.S. marshals in Northglenn, authorities said Monday.

Victor Manuel Sosa Muela, 40, was arrested as he was getting into his car outside his apartment complex.

"Muela is wanted for raping his children and his ex-wife in Chihuahua, Mexico," said U.S. marshals spokesman David Floyd. "The pattern of physical and sexual abuse spanned several years and involved his minor children."

Mexican authorities contacted the marshals when they learned he had moved to the U.S., Floyd said.

Investigators tracked him to an apartment complex at 11801 Washington St. He was arrested without incident Monday morning as he walked to his car.

He is being held in custody of the marshals and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 30, Floyd said.
