DENVER -- Denver police have arrested a suspect in the murder of a woman in 1992.

Roslin Gray, 31 was found dead inside her home on Elizabeth Street on Oct. 14, 1992. She died from stab wounds and blunt force trauma.

The Denver Police Department. told 7NEWS the Cold Case Unit began working on the case in August 2005.

This month, detectives developed sufficient information to obtain an arrest warrant for Carlton Smith, 56, for murder in the first degree.

Smith was arrested Saturday. Detectives will present this case to the Denver District Attorney for consideration of formal charges.
