Thornton police arrested two people they said beat a man and then left him on the side of the road wearing nothing but underwear and shoes.

Michelle L. Huddleston, 29, and Christopher Preston, 32, were arrested by police Wednesday. Both are being held on assault and attempted murder charges, Thornton police said.

The victim, Michael Carfarella, met Huddleston while responding to a craigslist ad for a dog kennel, said police spokesman Matt Barnes.

Carfarella went to Huddleston’s home and was hit from behind and repeatedly assaulted by several other suspects, Barnes said.

The attackers then took Carfarella to Coal Creek Canyon and left him on the side of the road in his underwear and shoes.

A CDOT worker plowing the road found Carfarella and called for help.

Huddleston was taken to the Adams County Detention Facility.

Barnes said the investigation is continuing and police are still trying to find additional suspects.
