BOULDER, Colo. -- Boulder police are investigating an attempted abduction of a University of Colorado student outside a residence hall on Tuesday night. The woman was walking from her Williams Village dorm hall in the area of 30th street and Baseline Road when a man approached her, said Boulder police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley. The man reportedly offered her a ride and when she declined he grabbed her by the arm, Huntley said.
The woman managed to get away and run inside a building for help, police said.Boulder police are investigating a string of six random assaults this fall, including four sexual assaults. The attacks have prompted Boulder police to step up patrols on University Hill in hopes of preventing more assaults and catching the perpetrators."Police are investigating the incident and do not have any reason to believe at this time that it is related to six other reported assaults on women that have occurred off campus since Halloween," Huntley said.
