Suspected Child Abuser Facing Additional Charges
Eric Torrez Held On $2 Million Bond

DENVER -- A Denver man charged last week with numerous counts of sexual assault on a child was being held on a $2 million bond following his arrest Wednesday in another case involving alleged sexual assault on the child.Denver police said Eric Torrez, 46, was re-arrested Wednesday in connection with the latest case. He was taken into custody without incident.Details of the latest case have not been released.
A man charged last week with numerous counts of sexual assault on a child has been arrested again, in connection with a new allegation.Denver Detectives believe there may be additional victims and asked them to contact Detective Johnson, with the department's Missing and Exploited Persons Unit, at 720-913-6067.Detectives will present their case to the Denver District Attorney's Office for filing of formal charges.Torrez was arrested with his wife and their adult son last week on charges of sexually assaulting a boy and a girl in their care over several years. The children's mother was also arrested on charges of complicity.The three members of the Torrez family were released after posting bond.The Denver district attorney's office said the alleged victims, now in their 20s, recently reported the abuse after they moved to Kansas.Prosecutors said the abuse began in the mid-1990s. They allege the children's mother left them in the Torrez home even though she knew of the alleged abuse.
