FOUNTAIN, Colo. -- A 15-year-old student at Fountain-Fort Carson High School in Fountain was arrested Monday after police said he threatened students at the school."We had some folks come in ... telling us they had overheard this young man making threats," police Sgt. Jess Freeman told the Gazette. "We had a similar situation with that same young man in the past."Freeman said the boy was released to the custody of his parents.
A statement posted on the school's Web site said, "On Nov. 30, the administration of Fountain-Fort Carson High School was notified of a possible threat made by a student. The threat included information that a student could potentially cause harm to other students on (Monday). The administrative team began working with the Fountain Police Department in investigating this threat. It was determined by both the school and law enforcement that this was not a credible threat."During the investigation of the Fort Carson incident, a rumor started that students at Mesa Ridge High School in Colorado Springs were also threatened.School officials at Mesa Ridge said they are unaware of any threats to students or staff at the high school.
