Polling Place At Winery Offered Free Tastings

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Voters at one polling location in Colorado had the option to vote and then drink wine. Two Rivers Winery in Grand Junction served as a voting place for the first time in a presidential election, and the wine tasting room opened at 10:30 a.m.Mesa County Elections Director Sheila Reiner said the tasting room at the winery is 100 feet from the polls.
State law does not allow alcohol within 100 feet of a polling location.Two Rivers Winery was built in 1999. It produces chardonnay, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, riesling and port.
