Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas is hiring 1,400 people for its new facility in Brighton.

Vestas already has a plant in Windsor. Now it's adding an assembly factory and a blade factory. Representatives from Vestas will be at the Adams County Fairgrounds exhibit hall from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday to answer questions and take applications.

All 1,400 positions available are full-time positions with benefits. Positions include environmental engineers, production and shipping.

Vestas is the world's leading producer of high-tech wind power systems.

Brighton has redeveloped the former home of Platte Valley Medical Center into the Brighton Learning and Resource Center and is partnering with Front Range Community College and Colorado State University to help train new Vestas employees.

It's not known what skills are needed, but Vestas said it was looking for "candidates with the abilities, drive and desire to succeed."
