UPDATED: 7:54 pm MDT October 15, 2008

Six sticks of old dynamite turned up near a century-old shed in Frisco, where contractors clearing brush found the dynamite wrapped in newspaper.

The contractors said they were moving brush and wood from the backyard of a home. The moved a log adjacent to a 102 year old shed and found a roll of newspaper dated from 1926. After unrolling the paper, the two men found six sticks of old dynamite.

Workers called authorities, and the Jefferson County Bomb Squad destroyed the dynamite by soaking and then burning it.

Three blocks in Frisco were briefly evacuated during the cleanup.
