Hiker Chases Down Suspected Thief At Trailhead

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. -- A hiker helped police arrest a suspected thief at a trailhead.The woman was starting to hike when she heard a car alarm in the parking lot, according to the Summit Daily News newspaper.She hustled back to the parking lot and saw a man running from a truck with a broken window. The hiker got into her car and followed the man while she called police.
Officers caught up to the man and asked to search his car. Officers found a black purse with two cell phones, three driver's licenses and several credit cards, all belonging to different individuals, the Summit Daily News reported.The man is facing five counts of theft in excess of $500, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.
