Report: Police Computer Used To Send 'Anti-Christ' Message

E-Mail Suggests 'Muslim' Candidate Is Anti-Christ

POSTED: 9:49 am MDT October 14, 2008

Denver police want to find out who sent an e-mail from a police department computer suggesting that presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama is the antichrist.

KUSA-TV said it received a copy of the e-mail from a police officer who objected to the use of department computers to send such messages.

Police Chief Gerry Whitman launched an investigation Monday. Police spokeswoman Sharon Hahn confirmed that the department was "looking into the allegation of the improper use of the internal e-mail system." She said that it was a police officer who had sent out the e-mail, but did not identify the officer.

The e-mail states that the "Anti-Christ (sic) will be a man, in his 40s, of Muslim descent." It does not mention a candidate's name, but Obama is 47 and his rival, Sen. John McCain, is 72. Despite numerous e-mails claiming that Obama is a Muslim, he is not. McCain is not a Muslim either.

"Have the American People completely lost their Minds, or just their Power of Reason?" the e-mail says. "I'm sorry but I refuse to take a chance on the 'unknown' candidate."

The e-mail also criticizes screeners at airports for not profiling travelers.
