Eva Longoria Headlines College Voter Registration Tour

Actress Eva Longoria, star of ABC's "Desperate Housewives," headlined a voter registration rally in Denver Saturday.

Actors Adam Rodriquez, star of "CSI: Miami," and Kal Penn, star of "House" and the "Harold & Kumar" movies, urged students on the Auraria campus to vote in this year's election.

The voter registration deadline in Colorado is Oct. 6.

Longoria said the nation's youth flexed their muscles during this year's primaries and Washington was beginning to take notice.

"I think the government and politicians have long underestimated the power of the youth vote," said Longoria.

Longoria, a self-professed Hillary Clinton supporter, said she believed Sen. Barack Obama is the reason so many young voters were showing up at the polls.

Rodriguez said over the last eight years Americans have been "asleep at the wheel" and believed many people now realize change has to come now.

"The fact that the youth now have taken this kind of interest is a perfect indicator of how important being involved and being aware right now is," said Rodriguez.

Longoria, Penn and Rodriguez made stops at the University of Northern Colorado and Colorado State University as well.
