COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A man walking along Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs Monday night was surprised by a mugger who had been hiding in the bushes.

According to the Colorado Springs police report, the victim was walking near Chestnut Street when he was attacked.

The mugger leapt from behind some bushes, pushed an object of some sort into the victim's side, grabbed him from behind and demanded money.

The victim gave the man money and the attacker ran off. The mugger is described as a thin man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Officers checked the area for him but he was not found.

The victim was not hurt.
