Burning Human Remains Found In S. Colorado
Remains Sent To Coroner For Autopsy

SAGUACHE, Colo. -- Investigators said skeletal human remains were found burning in a barrel in southern Colorado last weekend, and blood and clothing were found nearby. Saguache County Sheriff Mike Norris said the remains were found Saturday in remote ranching country about 12 miles west of Saguache and about 125 miles southwest of Denver. Little information has been released, including the victim's gender and the cause of death.
The remains have been sent to the El Paso County coroner in Colorado Springs for an autopsy. Results are expected later in the week. Norris said that Colorado Bureau of Investigation crime scene investigators were called in to assist and help also was provided by personnel from the state division of wildlife, Saguache Fire Department and the U.S. Forest Service.Anyone with information about the case was asked to call the sheriff's department (719) 655-2525.
