Police: Burglar Tied Up Woman, Left Her In Closet

DENVER -- Fort Collins police said a man broke into a woman's house Tuesday and demanded money.Police said the 58-year-old victim was about to take a bath when the man came in through the patio door.The burglar approached the woman from behind and demanded money, said Rita Davis of the Fort Collins Police Department.
The woman told him she didn't have any cash, Davis said.The man then tied her hands, placed a cloth in her mouth and forced her into a bedroom closet before leaving the home, she said.The woman was inside the closet for more than an hour before she was able to free herself and call police, Davis said.The woman was not injured.Police said that while the woman said she did not see the burglar because he was behind her, she described him as white between 30 and 60 years old. He was wearing a dark baseball hat, a blue and white bandana over his face and blue jeans, Davis said.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 970-221-6555 or Larimer County Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868.
