A Brighton man was killed Monday night when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a pickup truck, the Colorado State Patrol said.

A spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol said the crash happened at the intersection of 152nd Avenue and Hayesmount Road in Adams County around 7:30.

A red 1999 Ford F350 truck failed to stop at the stop sign in the intersection and hit the drivers side of a Dodge SQ2 truck headed east on 152nd, said Ryan Sullivan of the Colorado State Patrol.

The Dodge was pulling a trailer at the time, Sullivan said, which broke off from the Dodge and rolled.

The driver of the Ford, identified as Jose Duran, 56, was partially ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene, Sullivan said.

The two people inside the Dodge, Dominic Suazo and Brad Wager were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
