Greeley Police Sgt. Accused In Bar Fight Fired

POSTED: 6:50 am MDT September 5, 2008

A Greeley police sergeant under investigation after a bar fight in Larimer County no longer works for the city.

Greeley Human Resources Director Sharon McCabe said Kell Hulsey's employment with the city ended Tuesday. She could not say if he was terminated or resigned, and Police Chief Jerry Garner says he can't comment because it's a personnel matter.

The Greeley Tribune cited several sources who said Hulsey was fired.

Hulsey was accused of starting a fight at a bar on July 6, in the Red Feather Lakes area, west of Fort Collins. The victim had numerous facial cuts. Hulsey's son was arrested, but charges were dismissed.

Larimer County officials are still investigating and haven't decided whether to pursue charges against Hulsey.

A phone number for Hulsey could not be found.
