There have been several inquiries this morning about the construction of fencing in certain areas of Civic Center Park. This is in preparation for the construction of A Taste of Colorado scheduled for the Labor Day weekend beginning Friday afternoon. According to information provided by A Taste of Colorado, advance preparations for this event require round-the-clock construction leading up to the festival’s opening.“A Taste of Colorado is a free community event featuring more than 50 of Colorado’s favorite food establishments, entertainment on 7 stages and more than 250 marketplace vendors, and carnival rides and games.”Early Wednesday morning organizers of the event began fencing off access to portions of Civic Center Park to maintain safety during construction. The fencing is a normal precaution for any construction site and is required in order to safely set up the event during times that other activities are taking place in the portion of the park closest to Bannock Street. These efforts are not related to demonstrations taking place in Civic Center Park and permitted groups using the park are aware this event will be setting up adjacent to their group.
