DENVER -- A 43-year-old man and his girlfriend were charged Wednesday, accused of physically abusing his mother, who later died.Christopher Quintanilla is charged with negligence resulting in serious bodily injury to at-risk person and Catherine Nieto, 42, is charged with negligence resulting in death of an at-risk person.Charges allege that Quintanilla physically abused his mother and Nieto's negligence contributed to the death of Quintanilla's elderly mother, said Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey.
Both Quintanilla and Nieto are in custody at the Denver County Jail. They will be advised of their charges on Aug. 28.
