Chemical Explosion Forces Temporary Evacuation

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- A small explosion at a chemical plant just outside Commerce City forced a temporary evacuation Tuesday afternoon, but there were no injuries.The incident was reported in the 10300 block of East 107 Place just after 2:15 p.m.. This is between Highway 85 and Interstate 76.The area around the site of the plant was originally evacuated and 104th Avenue was closed, but the road has reopened and evacuations were lifted.
No further evacuations were ordered. The closest homes are across Highway 85.
