CU Football Player Gets Probation In Off-Campus Brawl

BOULDER, Colo. -- A University of Colorado football player was given two years probation and 50 hours of community service for his part an off-campus fight last March.Riar Geer, a starting tight end for the Buffalos, was suspended during the Spring semester after he was charged with assault in connection with the March 18 fight.Police said Greer was attending a house party on 18th Street and Cascade Avenue when he punched Alexander Williams and Hunter Wright, fracturing one man's jaw and breaking the other man's tooth.
Greer must also attend anger-management classes and can't consume alcohol as part of his court sentence.As part of Geer's court sentence on the misdemeanor charge, he must attend anger-management classes and he can't consume alcohol.He apologized in court and promised it would not happen again.
