Video Mocks School Board Member Accused Of Stealing Dog

DURANGO, Colo. -- A Durango School District 9-R Board Member was arrested earlier this month on charges of second-degree burglary after he allegedly broke into the La Plata County Humane Society to retrieve his dog.Now the video of Padraig "Paddy" Lynch allegedly inside the Humane Society has hit the Internet with music. Click here to see the video set to the music of "Who Let The Dogs Out."The black and white video shows someone inside the Humane Society and at the very end shows the person leaving by the front door with a dog.
According to a police affidavit, animal control Officer Jason Barr responded originally to a complaint that a dog was inside a truck for several hours in the parking lot of Durango High School. Barr removed the dog, named Marsha, from the truck and took it to the Humane Society.A few hours later, Durango police responded to an alarm at the Humane Society. The doors were locked, but Marsha was missing.Lynch was booked into the La Plata County Jail and was released on his own recognizance on a $10,000 bond.The Durango Herald reported that Lynch said he had walked the dog several times while he was working at the fairgrounds. He also admitted entering the animal shelter after hours over concerns his dog might be euthanized.Read more about the case in the Durango Herald .
