BOULDER, Colo. -- A 22-year-old Boulder man is hospitalized in critical condition in Denver after he was stabbed. Authorities say Ryan Christopher Kelly was attacked about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday while walking near Broadway and Pleasant Street in the University Hill area of Boulder. Witnesses told police that Kelly heard two people talking loudly to one another on the street, and thought that they might have been trying to talk to him. Police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley said that Kelly spoke to the two in a non-confrontational way and asked if they were trying to talk to him, and he was attacked.
Kelly was stabbed in the neck, the lower back and the abdomen."The stabbing appears to be unprovoked," said Huntley. Police arrested 23-year-olds Cory James Morales and Alex Joseph Torres of Boulder in connection with the case. They're expected to make initial court appearances Thursday.Kelly is reported in critical condition Thursday in a Denver hospital.
