UPDATED: 10:31 am MDT August 21, 2008

Warmer and drier weather settles in for the rest of the week. Mostly sunny skies will cover the state on Thursday and Friday afternoon. Highs will warm into the low 90s across the plains later in the day.

Temperatures will remain very summer-like for the next 5 to 7 days with highs in the 80s and 90s each afternoon.

The next cold front will move through Friday night. This storm will bring a chance of storms during the afternoon hours on Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures won't be greatly afftected by this front with highs in the low to mid 80s expected through the weekend.

Watch Thursday's Weather Update

You've probably noticed that everything is extremely green. Last weekend's storm brought some much needed moisture to the area. Most metro area locations saw between 2 to 5 inches of rain over the three day period. We are still below average for the year, but slowly catching up.
