Family, Friends Honor Victims Of Roxborough House Fire

Joint Ceremony Held In Littleton

Three young adults who died in an explosion and fire in Roxborough Park were remembered Friday as good, fun-loving kids.

The victims were among a group of friends who had gathered to console Joey Shedron, whose mother had died from cancer. There was an explosion and fire.

Jeremy McCarroll, Amber Jeffers and Shedron died from smoke inhalation, according to the coroner's report.

"They were just awesome, loving 00 great kids who loved each other," said Debe Warren, a friend of Jeremy's.

So many friends turned out for the memorial service that many had to stand outside the church, where speakers had been set up.

"Our prayers are with Joe, Joey's father, that he just hangs in there and does good," said Donnie Fetters, a friend of Joey's. "Anything we can do... we're here to help."

"I've never seen so many people around one place that had so much love," Warren said. "A lot of these kids grew up together. They've known each other since they were five."

Friends of the victims have placed pictures, flowers, a jersey and motocross trophy on the fence surrounding the charred ruins of the house.

All of them are symbols of love for three young people taken from the Roxborough community much too soon.

"The best message I can give, is that life will go on. They didn't really die. They died here, but in our minds they will always live forever," said Kevin Martin, Amber's friend.
