4-Year-Old Expelled From Day Care Over Alleged Threat

Another Child Took His Pillow

POSTED: 9:59 am MDT August 1, 2008

A 4-year-old has been expelled from his day care after allegedly threatening to shoot his friends, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette newspaper.

The newspaper reported that Kyle, 4, had his pillow taken away before nap time.

The child started crying and had a tantrum at The Family Development Center at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Kyle allegedly said, "I am going to go shoot all my friends!"

A day care worker talked to Kyle about appropriate language and made him apologize.

But then there was an investigation involving university police.

Officers questioned Kyle's parents, asking if they had any guns. His mother said they don't. She said she doesn't allow her son to watch TV or play with toy guns.

The investigation ended with Kyle dismissal from the day care center he had attended for the past three years.

His mother believes the whole thing was handled unreasonably.

Read more about the investigation in the Colorado Springs Gazette newspaper.
