Boulder County Cyclist Chases Suspect

Woman Says Man Grabbed Her Chest While She Rode With Her Baby

For a Boulder County woman who has ridden her bicycle across the country twice, a ride to the post office is normally a breeze.

But last Friday, it turned into an unexpected work-out for Danika Bueno, as she chased down a man she said attacked her.

Bueno was riding with her 10-month-old son, Koa, when she saw another cyclist pass her.

She said he doubled back and grabbed her chest as he rode by again.

Instead of being shocked, Bueno wanted to make sure it didn’t happen to any other women, so she called 911 on her cell phone, and while talking to deputies, she chased after the other rider for more than a mile until deputies arrived.

“I was so enraged that he would do something like that with a kid on my back,” Bueno said. “When he got caught, I felt like women can do things, you know, we’re not just victims."

Deputies arrested Nathan Wood, 34, of Longmont, on complaints of sexual conduct and child abuse.
