A young mother charged with child abuse after her infant son ate methamphetamine pleaded guilty Tuesday.

Katriece Trujillo was charged with one felony count of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.

Trujillo, 27, was caring for her 3-month-old son when he ingested the drug sometime in March, said Denver District Attorney spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough.

She is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 16.

The presumptive range for sentencing on a class-four felony is two to eight years in the Department of Corrections, Kimbrough said.
