Jennie Castor

7NEWS Video Journalist

Jennie Castor has been a member of the Channel 7 News team since 1999. She's the first to admit she never thought she'd see her bio on this site, but times change and bring new opportunities.

She started her career as a Photojournalist and having accomplished much of what she wanted to in that field, Jennie jumped at the opportunity to see life on the other side of the camera. With a passion for great storytelling and "green" stories, she's finding that the view is pretty different.

Jennie graduated from Fordham University in 1993 with a degree in Journalism. She enjoyed the diversity of New York City and especially the food in the Little Italy neighborhood which borders the University.

After graduation she returned to her home in Harrisburg, PA where she worked for WHTM as a photojournalist for 3 years. She honed her craft during those early years and was truly a "jack of all trades" driving live trucks and learning the art of editing.

In 1996 an opportunity to come to the Mile High city presented itself and Jennie embarked on her new adventure. She worked in the market for a few years and made the switch to KMGH in 1999. For her, Channel 7 is home and her experiences over the years have been as diverse as our state. Covering everything from the Columbine shooting, to the Hayman fire to the romance of Ryan and Trista from the Bachelor, Jennie has “been there and done that.”

Frustrated by the lack of good surf here in Colorado, Jennie and her husband of 5 years spend as much of their free time as possible in Hawaii and other far-away lands. They share their Denver home with two adorable but quirky cats named George and Madeline.
