DENVER -- July is typically a hot one and 2008 is no exception!Temperatures have reached or exceeded 90 degrees for 18 of the last 23 days this month. Today will be number 19. In fact, highs are expected to reach the mid 90s for the rest of the work week and into the weekend. Not only has it been hot, it’s dry, too. Total precipitation for July is more than an inch below average. For the year, Denver’s precipitation deficit is even worse. Denver needs more than six inches of rain just to catch up to normal.
Wednesday's storm brought a little rain to the metro area, definitely not enough to get us out of the hole. The foothills and mountains were a little luckier with close to 1 inch of rain in some spots. With moisture surging in from the southwest there will be a chance of storms and showers pretty much every afternoon through the weekend.
