Police said a man pointed a gun at his former girlfriend, then fired a shot in the air before abducting her from a Dollar Tree store parking lot on Sunday.

Fort Collins police continued to search Monday for Travis Kess, 32, the suspect in Saturday night's kidnapping of Rosanna Martinez 45. Police said Kess and Martinez had been in a relationship that ended about eight months ago.

Martinez was abducted as she got into a co-worker's car after getting off from work, police said. Martinez's co-worker was not harmed and called 911.

Police were searching for a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Colorado license plate No. FHX-5828.

Kness is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has long brown hair past his shoulders. Police said he is a self-described outdoorsman and may have taken Martinez into rural areas.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Collins police at 970-221-6560.
