GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. -- Sierra Moore is one lucky girl.Moore, 8, survived a .45 caliber gunshot wound to her side after she was gunned down in her grandmother's northeast Denver neighborhood. Her aunt Jessica Gay, 14, is credited with Moore's survival. After Moore was shot, Gay picked Moore up and ran to a nearby Burger King for help.
Burger King said they were selecting "hometown heroes" and Moore and Gay were natural picks. The perk of the award included a trip to the Jonas Brothers concert and a personal meet and greet with Disney star's Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers.Moore said she had been through a lot this summer and the trip to see the tween sensations of "Camp Rock" fame was "great."Moore could barely contain her smile and told the Jonas Brothers her favorite song of all was "When you look me in the eyes."The Jonas Brothers and Lovato took pictures with Moore and signed autographs. Her mother, Wynesha Jones, said it had to be one of the best days of her daughter's life."Soon as she saw the Jonas Brothers, she just kinda froze...she did," said Jones. As for Moore's recovery, Jones said Moore recently had her stitches removed and will start therapy next week.Daniel Steven Lujan, 20, has been charged with the shooting.
