Ozone Alert In Effect For Front Range

DENVER -- An ozone alert is in effect for metro Denver and the Front Range. The Regional Air Quality Council said Sunday's hot weather combined with clear skies and light wind could lead to increased ground-level ozone in the region. The ozone alert covers the area from El Paso County north to Larimer and Weld counties, including the Denver-Boulder area, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and Greeley It will be in effect until 4 p.m. Monday.
Active children and adults and people with respiratory disease, such as asthma, should limit prolonged outdoor exertion between the hours of 1 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
