Charges Dropped Against Son Of Greeley Officer

Greeley Conducting Investigation Into Officer

POSTED: 1:42 pm MDT July 19, 2008

Prosecutors have dropped an assault charge filed against the son of a Greeley police officer accused of being involved in a bar fight in Red Feather Lakes.

Larimer County District Attorney Larry Abrahamson in a statement Friday said evidence has brought in question Daniel Hulsey's involvement in the fight July 6.

Witnesses told investigators a fight erupted at Potbelly Restaurant and Bar when questions arose about whether one man was attracted to another man.

One man was slightly injured during the fight and had to be taken to the hosital, police said.

Todd Taylor, Daniel Hulsey's attorney, said the charge being dropped was a step in the right direction.

Greeley was conducting its own investigation into whether Hulsey's father, Sgt. Kell Hulsey, was involved in the fight.
