CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Residents of a Castle Rock neighborhood were startled Saturday morning when the Douglas County SWAT team was called to a disturbance. This is the same neighborhood that was shut down by police activity in late June after a robbery suspect fired shots at deputies. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a call shortly after 4 a.m. about a drunken man with a rifle who was making threats in a home with more than dozen others, including children, inside.A perimeter was set up and Wolfensberger Road was closed between Highway 105 and Faver Road.
The man was taken into custody around 8 a.m. without incident or injury to officers or people in the home.Douglas County deputies said the incident is not related to the June 28 search for burglary and auto theft suspects who shot at officers."We’ve had people who shot at deputies. Complete disregard for public safety," deputy Cocha Heyden said. "People in this area are a little on edge. They want to make sure they aren’t targeting this area. But this incident today has no relation to our burglary and auto theft suspects who are still on the loose."
