LOVELAND, Colo. -- A group of teenagers in Loveland started with a pen and through a series of trades ended up with a free car, according to the Loveland Reporter Herald newspaper. Some call the game "bigger or better."You may remember two years ago, a man with a paper clip offered to trade it for the best offer. He got a pen... then a door knob... then a camping stove. He kept going and going. He eventually traded a role in a movie for a new home! He used the Internet to make his trades.
Kids with Loveland's Grace Place youth group went door to door. They split into groups and started with a pen.According to the newspaper, a group of four girls traded their pen for a glass vase, then a bird feeder, then a chain saw. They said they had some trouble getting people to talk to them while they were carrying a chain saw. They traded the saw for a barbecue grill then they knocked on Marcia Fogelberg’s door.Fogelberg didn't have anything to trade, until her son reminder her of the car. The white 1998 Mazda needed repairs, but the repairs were too expensive.According to the paper, the family was planning to donate the car to charity, but decided to trade it to the girls. The girls decided to fix up the car and give it to someone in need.According to the newspaper, Loveland’s Broadmoor Heights 66 service station will repair the car for free.
